A veterinary exam is a checkup to assess your pet’s overall health. We recommend booking an annual appointment to help us stay up-to-date with any changes that could’ve happened between visits. Depending on your furry friend’s age and underlying health issues, we’d like to see them more frequently than once a year.
Do I need to prepare for my pet’s wellness exam?
Our veterinary team will share anything you’ll need to prepare before their wellness exam. Depending on the diagnostic tests we’ll be doing, we could ask you to bring in a sample of your pet’s urine or feces. They may also need to fast before coming in for their appointment. It’s helpful to know some basic information about your pet, which will help us create their wellness plan. A few things we could ask for include your pet’s:
- Feeding schedule
- Food brand/type
- Supplements
- Activity level
- Behaviour
- Any other observations
What does my pet’s checkup include?
Wellness checks are an opportunity for our veterinary team to not only gauge your pet’s overall health, but also make recommendations about ways we can further support their wellbeing. We do a physical exam to examine their skin, eyes, ears, teeth, reflexes and alertness. Our assessment and your feedback will help create their wellness plan. Your pet’s wellness plan includes key information about their parasite control plan, vaccinations, dental health as well as other care we provide.
